Baldev Memorial basketball from July 22

Patiala, July 16: The sixth Baldev Singh Brar Memorial All India basketball tournament will be organised at the Polo Grounds here from July 22. Nine teams have already confirmed their participation in the mens category while four teams will vie for top honours among women.

Matches will be played on league basis and the winners of the men's section will receive Rs 30,000 while the runners-up will be richer by Rs 20,000. Among women, the winners will get Rs 20,000 and the runners up Rs 10,000.

Gurmeet for camp
Gurmeet Kaur has been selected for the national women's football coaching camp, which will be held at the National Institute of Sports, Patiala. The Indian team will take part in the Asian Women's football championship to be held at Phillipines from November 7 to 15.
