Alisha triumphs in Hong Kong Open

MUMBAI, JULY 19: India experienced mixed luck when top-seeded Alisha Mashruwala clinched the girls' under-11 title and Bikram Oberoi lost in the boys' under 19 final of the Hong Kong Junior Open Squash Championship yesterday.

Alisha downed a fighting Leung Shin Nga (Hong Kong) 9-2, 10-8, 7-9, 9-7 while Oberoi was outclassed by Malaysian top seed Mohd Azlan 9-8, 9-3, 9-0 according to information received here. Oberoi shocked second-seeded New Zealander Will Evans in five games in the semi-finals.

In a tie to decide the under-11 third place, India's Nishad Lalwani trounced compatriot Ishaan Balwani 9-1, 9-0, 9-2.

Second seed Lalwani had gone down to Singapore'so Marcus Phua in four games while Balwani had been beaten by Hong Kong's top seed Ng Kwan Lok in three games in the semi-finals.
