Salwan volleyball from August 23
The Salwan Boys School (Rajinder Nagar) will organise the second Salwan inter-school volleyball tournament for boys (under-17 years) from August 23 to 28 at the Salwan School ground.The winners will receive Rs 5,000 and runners-up Rs 2,500.
Leading public schools are expected to participate. Board and lodging arrangements for outstation teams will be made at the school premises.

DDCA patron
Senior advocate Arun Jaitley has been appointed patron of the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA). He is in addition to the two patrons Chetan Chauhan and Subhash Chopra.
Umpiring seminar
Ranji Trophy and national-panel umpires from Delhi, numbering about 15, will attend a two-day umpiring seminar at Bangalore on August 21 and 22.
Ramjas tourney
The fifth Ramjas inter-school basketball tournament will be conducted in the third week of August. Entries can be sent to the Principal, Ramjas School, No. 4, Paharganj. Last date of submission of entreis is August 5.
Aquatic meet
The sports branch of the Directorate of Education (Delhi Government) will organise open aquatic meet in 16 groups for men, women, boys and girls at Punjabi Bagh Club pool from July 26 to 29. Enties close on July 23 at the sports branch, Chattarsal Stadium.
