PANCHKULA, JULY 23: The District Council of Child Welfare, Panchkula, in collaboration with the Food and Nutrition Board, Chandigarh, and Child Development Project Office, Barwala, organised a 10-day training programme on nutrition education and food preservation. Around 47 women from Barwala participated in the programme.The women were given training for the manufacturing of products like rose syrup, lemon squash, mango squash, lemon chutney and pickle. The concluding function was held yesterday, in which City Magistrate M. S. Yadav was the chief guest and certificates were given away to the participants.
Open darbar held
An open darbar was held at the Block Development Office in Barwala today and city Magistrate M. S. Yadav presided over the darbar.
Sarpanch of the Barwala block, Veena Devi, raised the problems of inadequate staff at the school in Barwala, about the illegal structures in the village and demanded construction of a road.
Sarpanch of Kami village, Pawan Sharma, complained of the problem of flies in the village because of the large number of poultry farms.
The City Magistrate informed that spray was being used to tackle the problem. He also listened to the personal problems of the villagers and many problems were solved on the spot.
