Boil the water before drinking

PUNE, JULY 26: The Pune municipal administration has requested the citizens to boil the water before drinking to prevent the spread of gastroenteritis in the city. The appeal comes in the wake of the recent death of a teenaged girl who succumbed to gastroenteritis Gokhale Nagar area.

PMC's health department chief Anil Ravetkar has also appealed the citizens to avoid consumption of food and fruits kept in open at public places. He added that the ward offices should be immediately informed about the chok ups in the drainage systems.

The civic administration has appealed the medical practitioners to inform PMC's health department about the occurrence of gastro cases. Ravetkar said the patients of dehydration should be given solution of sugar, salt and water.

The civic administration has already undertaken the work of disinfecting the entire ciyty to prevent spread of a major epidemic in the city.
