VADODARA, July 26: No breakthrough has yet been made in the employment racket in which more than 400 people from the state had been cheated by the Ankleshwar-based International Manpower Resources on the pretext of getting jobs in Dubai.PSI M A Baria of the Ankleshwar GIDC Police Station said that inquiries revealed that agency's proprietor Satyen had vacated his rented house in Golden Street in GIDC before July 20 and fled the city. He said that a few people, who were said to be his friends, told that they did not know where did Satyen hail from or what was his full name. Even receptionist Kinnari, who was picked up and interrogated, expressed her ignorance about the whereabouts of Satyen and said that she had no knowledge about Satyen's native place. Other two employees of the agency were also untraceable, Baria stated.
Even the mobile telephone used by Satyen was not in his name. The payment for the furniture Satyen purchased for his office, was made in cash and not through a bank cheque which could have given some clue about the whereabouts of the man, PSI said.
The candidates appeared at an interview for a job in Dubai in response to an advertisement in a newspaper published from Ahmedabad on June 10 and each of them paid Rs. 12,000 to Rs. 15,000 after getting selected.
