Former Vidarbha Ranji cricketer released on bail

VALSAD, July 26: Former Vidarbha Ranji Trophy cricketer, Bhograj Ankush Allot, arrested on July 11 by the Government Railway Police (GRP) at Bilad railway station near here for allegedly trying to rob a woman passenger inside a train, was released on bail by a local court today.

GRP sources said that Allot (40), was caught when he was allegedly trying to steal some gold ornaments and Rs 28,000 in cash from the bag of a woman. Allot has reportedly admitted that between 1998 and 1999 he had committed about seven such acts.
