Gujarat Janata Dal sides with Sharad Yadav

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
VADODARA, July 26: The Gujarat unit of Janata Dal sided with the faction led by Sharad Yadav, State unit president Chhotubhai Vasava announced here on Monday. A party meeting has been convened here to discuss the split in the party and its fallout.

Talking to Express Newsline, Vasava said he would be contesting from Bharuch. The Dal would field at least eight candidates in the State, he said, maintaining that it could well win from Mandvi. They would use the `wheel' symbol, he said.

While admitting he had been expelled from the party headed by H D Deve Gowda, Vasava said that faction did not exist any longer for him.
