What was unfortunate was that none of the participants from Delhi could even have a shot at the title as they had crashed out earlier in the eight-team knock-out round round format.

After the Meerut outfit made the final grade in style, one expected some explosive stuff from them against a tough team like the St George's. But it was a disappointment as nothing of that sort was on view in today's game.The St George's boys took charge of the proceedings right from the whistle and did not let things drift, even after leading comfortably at 5-0 at the end of the first session.

All the while, their opponents from Meerut looked like passengers and they hardly did anything to befit their finalist status. They played an atrocious game, letting too many holes in their defence to exploit. The Mussoorie boys, as if expecting such a bad game from their rivals, seized the opportunities and scored at will.

Within minutes of the start, they had gained an upperhand even as the Meerut outfit tried to keep the ball to midfield. But the St George's boys found a right combination in Dije Shrestha, Tensin Tsering and Manit Khanijoun, who made easy inroads and mounted pressure. All the three scored a brace each while Siddharth Thapa, Sandeep Tuladhar and Sumiran Shrestha netted once each to complete the rout.

Siddhartha Thapa, who was a little off-colour today with just a goal to his account, had the satisfaction of picking the `best footballer' of the tournament title. Rev Brother Thanicken, principal of Mt.St Mary's School, gave away the prizes to the teams.
