Besides deploying police and para-military troops along the highway, more Road Opening Parties (ROPs) have been pressed into service to foil militants' designs to plant explosive devices along the route, sources said.

Securitypersons have also been deployed at vantage positions along the highway to check the movement of militants and subversives, they said, adding these measures have been taken following the detection of Improvised Explosive Devices by the ROP between Nashri and Peda on Sunday.
