Body found in Sursagar
The highly decomposed body of an unidentified male was recovered from the Sursagar Lake by the Fire Brigade and Raopura policemen on Tuesday morning. It could not be immediately ascertained if the man had been murdered and thrown into the lake or if he had committed suicide. The body has been sent for post-mortem; the case is being further investigated.Cash stolen
Dhandhuka-resident Bhavesh Praveen Soni has complained to the police that his suitcase, which contained Rs 66,300 in cash, was stolen from an ST bus (GJ 18 V 4120) at the main city bus stand on Monday morning. The police said he had boarded the Amreli-bound bus in Surat for Dhandhuka; the suitcase was stolen while he was gazing out of the window. The case is being probed.
Pick-pocketed
Sangitaben Sakharam Damodar, a resident of Sant Kabir Nagar, Akota, has complained to the Sayajigunj police that Manglaben Vaghari and Ashaben Vaghari, both residents of slums opposite Ganjkhana outpost in the Panigate police station area, had stolen Rs 130 from her while she was shopping at Kadak Bazaar on Monday evening. Investigations are on, according to the police.
Robbery
Cash and valuables worth Rs 20,000 were reported to have been stolen by unidentified persons from two houses in Shantikunj Society No 3, Manjalpur, on Monday night. Burglars reportedly broke into the adjoining houses by removing window grills. The Makarpura police are investigating the case.
