VADODARA, July 27: One Madhuben Motibhai Camabhai, a resident of Bharwadwas in Sama area, complained to the police that a builder, and his associates, of the Karelibaug area on Sunday night beat her up and even tore her clothes in the process. Though a case has been registered, the police is yet to make any arrests.According to an FIR registered in the Fatehgunj Police Station, the woman said that she had signed a `banakhat' (agreement to sell) of her farm in Syed Vasna village with the builder 10 years ago. However, she cancelled the agreement when the builder failed to fulfill the terms of the agreement.
The complainant finally took the matter to court, where the case is still pending. But, according to the complainant, the builder came to her house on Sunday night and demanded that she withdraw the case.
When she refused to comply, they asked her to put her thumb impression on a typed piece of paper and threatened her of dire consequences if she refused to do the needful. The accused then beat her up and tore her clothes when she defied them. The complainant's husband was away on duty when the incident occurred.
