IAF man arrested
A warrant officer of the Indian Air Force, Ram Kirpal Singh Havildar Singh, who resides in Shanti Kunj Society on Harni Road, was arrested by a police team from the City Police Station on the charge of selling liquor illegally from his house. A police official said that as many as 80 bottles of beer and liquor of various brands valued at Rs 10,000 was seized from his house. A case under the Prohibition Act has been registered.Assault case
The Chhani police on Monday registered a case against three persons, Ranjitsinh Udesinh Padhiyar, Alpesh Parshotam Prajapati and Chanku Chandubhai Solanki, all residents of village Dashrath, on the charges of assaulting teachers of Makorba High School in the village and threatening them. According to the police, the accused had an old enmity with a teacher, Tusharbhai, and beat him up when he was teaching in the class room.
Cop threatened
The Raopura police have registered a case against the driver of an autorickshaw (GJ 6 W 1929) on the charge of misbehaving with traffic head-constable Ranjitbhai Kalyanbhai and threatening him. According to the police, the cop was manning the Tower Crossing and objected to traffic violation by the driver. The driver allegedly abused the cop and threatened him in response.
Housebreak
Valuables amounting to Rs 15,000 were stolen from house no. 21-B in Ajay Society near Old Bapod Jakat Naka last night. According to the Panigate police, house owner Upendrabhai Hiralal Pandya had gone out of town yesterday. On his return at 8 a.m. on Monday, he found the main door of his house broken open and ornaments stolen from the steel cupboard. The house was badly ransacked and household goods were scattered all over.
Vehicles stolen
Two vehicles were reported stolen from different places in the city during the last 24 hours. According to the police, a Luna moped (GJ 6 N 2456) worth Rs 3,000 was stolen from outside Vipul Classes near Kalyanji temple under City Police Station, and a motorcycle (GJ 6 NN 4299) worth Rs 45,000 from the parking lot of the Windsor Plaza on R C Dutt Road.
