SURAT, Aug 2: Exactly how chaotic the traffic situation in the city is was evident when two autorickshaws, one of them carrying two women assistant sub-inspectors, rammed into each other just opposite the police headquarters on the main Athwalines road on Monday afternoon.Policewomen Shanta Ashok and Mina Chhana were travelling in autorickshaw (GJ 5 T 7439) when another rickshaw driver, while riding recklessly, rammed his vehicle (GJ 5 5432) into it.
Both vehicles overturned and were damaged in the collision, while the two women, who were on duty, and rickshaw driver Vijay Balu Ponta, a Ved Road resident, were rushed to the Mission hospital. A case has been registered in the Umra police station.
