A division bench comprising Chief Justice K G Balakrishnan and Justice M S Parikh on Monday posted the matter for futher hearing to August 18.

The petitioner alleged that on July 29, the residents of Milatnagar, on the outskirts of the city, were attacked by a mob.

The petitioner, besides demanding compensation for damage to property and injuries to residents, has sought institution of a high-level enquiry into the alleged partisan role of the police during the violence at Milatnagar.
