Constituents of the third front had been sharing stressed relations with Pawar over sharing of Assembly and LS seats. The Communist Party of India was the first party to refuse an alliance with the NCP and to launch an independent campaign.

However, PWP leader N D Patil and CPI leader Govind Pansare, refused to admit the truth and claimed they walked out in protest against Pawar's move to admit former ministers from the Shiv Sena-Bharatiya Janata Party alliance to the NCP. ``If we are fighting to defeat the Sena-BJP alliance, how is it possible for us to work with someone who was part of the same government?'' asked Patil.

The leaders announced the first list of Lok Sabha and Assembly candidates for their respective parties. While PWP would contest 2 LS and 30 Assembly seats, the CPIwould field 1 LS candidate and 24 assembly candidates.

Earlier in Nagpur, Pawa ruled out any truck with the BJP and claimed that the NCP and its allies would get a clear majority and form the government in Maharashtra.

An intelligence report of the State Government has also found a swing in favour of the NCP-led alliance, Pawar told newesmen. The people were thoroughly disillusioned with the Shiv Sena-BJP rule and breach of its electoral promises, Pawar who is on a two-day tour of Vidarbha said.
