Bodies of three soldiers sent to their native places

CHANDIGARH, Aug 23: The mortal remains three soldiers, two of whom were battle casualties from the Kargil sector, were received here during the past 24 hours and sent to their respective native places with full military honours and floral tributes.

The bodies of Lance Naik Ram Dularia Yadav of 13 Kumaon, and of Naik B. C. Rao of an ASC battalion were received here from Leh today morning and afternoon respectively.

L/Nk Yadav, hailing from Gazipur in Uttar Pradesh, was killed in the Turtuk Sector from splinter injuries sustained from enemy artillery shells on August 21.

The body of Nk Rao, who hails from Andhra Pradesh has been sent to his parent unit in Pathankot. He had died of heart attack while travelling on the Leh-Manali route.

The body of Subedar Ajit SIngh of 303 Medium Regiment was sent to his native place in Gurdaspur yesterday. He was killed by artillery shelling ahead of Kargil near Leh last week.
