CHANDIGARH, AUG 23: A declamation contest was organised at the Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 19, in junior and senior categories today. The sentiments of the students on the situation in Kargil was the topic for the declamation. Nearly 50 of the students participated in the event.In the junior group, Nirumpa of Class VI won the first prize, whereas Kanika and Poonam, both of Class VIII won the second and the third prize, respectively.
In the senior category, Amrita of Class XII walked away with the first prize, Padam and Mala of Class XI won the second and third place, respectively.
S.S. Ahir, the Chief Manager of State Bank of India, who had organised the contest gave away the prizes to the winners.
Poster-making contest on `Save environment' held n A poster-making contest was organised at Manav Mangal High School, Sector 21, by the State Bank of Patiala, Sector-22 today.
The theme was "Save environment", and it reflected in the students' drawings on noise pollution, water pollution, industries and deforestation.
Slogans like "Each one plant one" were used by the students.
The winners are in the Middle section are: Shilpa of Class VII, Arshdeep Kaur of Class VII, Aanchal of Class VII and Parminder Kaur of Class VIII.
Senior category: Sadhavi Bansal, Class IX, Kanupriya of Class IX, Akannksha of Class X and R. Arun Chandru of Class IX.
