Notice of motion to city IGP, SSP

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
CHANDIGARH, Aug 24: On an application alleging "wilful and deliberate" disobedience of the Punjab and Haryana High Court orders directing UT Inspector General of Police S. K. Singh and Senior Superintendent of Police C. S. R. Reddy to register a case against a computer institute, Justice V. S. Aggarwal today issued notice of motion for October 25.

Sukhbir Singh of Sector 46, in his application, had earlier alleged that in spite of clear directions from the High Court, the respondents had not taken any action.

The counsel for the petitioner had added that neither was the investigation held, nor was any action taken in accordance with the law within two months as directed. The respondents, the counsel had added, had thereby made themselves liable for punishment under the contempt of court Act.

Giving details regarding the background, the counsel stated that the High Court on May 17 had disposed of a writ petition with directions to the IGP and the SSP to look into the complaints by the petitioner and other students and take appropriate action in accordance with law within two months.
