Addressing a press conference here, party's national general secretary M Venkaiah Naidu said, "The BJP did not believe in this method and did not resort to it. It was the Congress' culture."

Naidu said the way Sonia filed her nomination in Bellary was nothing but a "drama", he said the security reasons stated by the Congress was unsatisfactory. Sonia was not sure about her victory in Bellary and that is the reason why she chose to contest from another constituency, he claimed.

To queries on issues like Ram janambhoomi and common civil code, Naidu said these issues need not be raked up now as the BJP is committed to implementing the programmes under the National Democratic Alliance's common agenda for national governance.

He ridiculed the Congress stand onsingle party rule and said "it did not hold good now and was not possible".

Reacting to criticism of coalition government, Naidu said the Congress was fighting elections in states like Kerala, Maharashtra, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh by forging alliance with regional parties. "On one hand they are fighting elections along with other parties and on other they talk of single party rule," he said.

Naidu accused the Congress of doublestandards and alleged there was utter confusion and contradiction in the Opposition camp regarding issues like leadership, future set-up of the government, common manifesto, alliance and seat-sharing.

Expressing confidence on the NDA's performance in the coming elections, Naidu said the NDA was marching ahead in all aspects and was way ahead in campaigning than others.
