MUMBAI, Aug 24: The entire flyover project in Mumbai will be completely and comprehensively reviewed and immediate action taken against all those indicted in the Srikrishna Commission that inquired into the Mumbai riots if the Congress return to power in the state, said senior leader and former minister Ramrao Adik today.Adik, as chairman of the manifesto committee, released the party's manifesto for the State stating unequivocally that ``the Congress will not take and does not need Sharad Pawar's help''. Pawar had stated that the NCP would not mind supporting a Congress Government without Sonia Gandhi in Panaji yesterday. ``There will be no truck with him; he is saying it only out of frustration and desperation,'' Adik added.
Among the main issues raised in the manifesto are a special peace-keeping force that might turn out to be a parallel police force, self-employment to about one crore unemployed youth across the State, reduction in the State's non-Plan expenditure. Minorites and backward castes havebeen wooed with special packages such as the setting up of a backward castes development corporation and development-welfare programmes for minorities.
