CHANDIGARH, AUG 26: Atleast three `human bombs' backed by Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) have plans to eliminate top politicians during election campaigns in Haryana.Stating this at a press conference here today, Haryana's Director General of Police A S Bhatotia said, three terrorists of KCF Purshottam Singh, Narender Singh and Rattandeep Singh, all from Haryana, had offered themselves to the ISI for acting as `human bombs' to eliminate Prime Minister A B Vajpayee, Home Minister L K Advani, Congress president Sonia Gandhi, besides Punjab CM P S Badal, J&K CM Farooq Abdullah and Union Minister Sukhbir Badal.
Bhatotia said the conspiracy had come to light following intelligence reports and interrogation of certain terrorists arrested in Kashmir and Delhi recently. He added that while the arrest of one Kashmir Singh, a terrorist hailing from Jind in Haryana, in Kashmir revealed this plot, the arrest of Dilbagh Singh, Bakshish Singh and Charanjeet Singh, along with 50 kg of RDX, by Delhi policehad also helped unearth this ISI plan to create violence during elections.
Asserting that the state police was fully geared to face such a threat from the ISI, the DGP said a manhunt had been launched in the state as all these terrorists were untraceable. He added that Rattandeep, alongwith his wife, of Jind district was believed to have slipped into Pakistan. While Purshottam Singh hailed from Ambala, Narender Singh was from Kurukshetra and Rattandeep Singh from Safidon in the state.
Bhatotia said the earlier arrests of Rattandeep's gangmen, who were experts in improvised explosive devices (IED) and were targeting public rallies and meetings, had also given a clue about the ISI designs to create disturbances during the elections here. The DGP said said Pakistan was looking forward to such a plan ever since its defeat in the Kargil sector.
He said it seemed militants had increased their activities in Haryana and keeping this in mind the state police was in constant touch with its counterparts in Delhi,Punj.
