Brahm Kumaris explain significance of raksha bandhan

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
SAS NAGAR, Aug 26: On the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, the Brahm Kumaris explained the significance of the festival. They tied the sacred thread -- a symbol of selfless love between a brother and sister -- on the wrist of their spiritual brothers. They said that applying tilak on the brother's forehead is indicative of the sister suggesting that her brothers remain conscious of the living spirit and see others as souls.

Brahm Kumaris from the Mohali branch tied the sacred thread to distinguished personalities of the township, inmates and staff of a paraplegic home, drug de-addiction centre, officers and jawans of Punjab Police, members of Mohali Industries Association and others.

While at the Chandigarh branch, they tied rakhis to Haryana Governor Mahavir Prashad, Justice M.L. Singhal, Haryana Chief Secretary R.S.Verma, Financial Commissioner Punjab, Rajan Kashyap, UT Home Secretary N.K.Jain and other officers.
