As usual the evening was arranged by the Punjab Sangeet Natak Academy and the North Zone Cultural Centre. Verma took the audience step by step, beginning with teen taal in normal tempo and then showing its development through some traditional compositions of his Patiala Gharana.So we went on a flight of fancy along with his chakradhar and uthan, that abstract conjuring up of imagery. Then in the true style of a tablachi, Pawan elaborated on thaat and taal by first singing the notes and then playing them on the tabla. To wind it up, Pawan demonstrated the rapid rela.
