According to Shinder Pal Singh, spokesperson of the Union, "a PCCTU deputation met the Punjab Chief Secretary and other higher officials of the Education Department, who assured that a grant of Rs 5 crore would be released on August 27, another Rs 5 crore in the next week and the remaining Rs 13 crore till September 10."

And an assurance has been given that all unaided affliated colleges would be covered under the aided scheme shortly, and UGC pay-scales will be implemented in toto after seeking some important clarifications.
