SBP regional office opened at Ludhiana

CHANDIGARH, Aug 26: The regional office of the State Bank of Patiala (SBP) was inaugurated at Ludhiana today. The regional office, which was earlier functioning from Jalandhar, was inaugurated by its Chief General Manager M. Sitaram Murthy. The bank has been shifted to Ludhiana in order to enable the authorities to exercise proper control over the 30 of its branches located in various parts of the district.According to a spokesperson, "Although established in 17 states and union territories throughout the country, the State Bank of Patiala's (SBP) focus for providing banking services will be Punjab andits adjoining states." The bank has recently launched a novel concept of "Patiala Bank Kisan Card" with the aim of providing flexibility in the bank's system of credit to farmers.
