NEW DELHI, August 26: As many as 70 swimmers from 10 regional boards, including MTNL (Delhi) will take part in the 15th All India Telecom Aquatic Championship to be held in Calcutta on August 27 and 28.Defending champions West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, MTNL (Mumbai), MTNL (Delhi), Delhi (NTR) are among the regional boards to confirm participation in the two-day meet.
The events for men are freestyle (100m, 200m, 400m, 1500m), backstroke (200m, 100m), breaststroke (200m, 100m), butterfly (100m) and relay 4X100m while the women will take part in freestyle (100m, 200m), backstroke (100m) and breaststroke (200m, 100m).
Apex School win
Apex School won the inaugural Dhyan Chand memorial volleyball tournament, beating Ramjas School No. 4 25-20, 25-15 at Mamta Modern School, Vikaspuri. Surjit, Amit Tripathi and Pankaj played steller oles for the winners with fine shooting. In the semifinals, Ramjas No. 4 beat Govt Boys School (Najafgarh) 26-24, 25-17 while Apex School defeated Govt School (Motibagh) 25-11, 25-13. Thirteen teams participated in the tournament.
