JAMMU, AUG 27: Security forces on Friday claimed to have foiled Inter-Services Intelligence's (ISI) designs to disrupt the electoral process in Jammu and Kashmir with the recovery of huge quantity of arms and explosives from border area of Kanachak in Akhnoor sector of Jammu division, a spokesman for the Border Security Force (BSF) here said.The consignment recovered on Thursday included 10 packets of deadly explosives, one anti-tank mine with time pencil, detonator and battery, several sophisticated timer devices, a Chinese pistol and one Chinese hand grenade, he told reporters.
The consignment was dispatched by the Khalistan Commando Force (KCF-Panjwar group) with the help of ISI, he said adding their aim was to create disturbances and disrupt the democratic process in the state.
BSF has geared up its intelligence and troops along the international border and relentless operations were on to foil such attempts in future, the spokesman said.
Efforts were also being made to nab the culpritsassociated with the case, he said.
