MNS launches website on used vehicles

ENS ECONOMIC BUREAU
MUMBAI, SEPT 2: Mahindra Network Services Ltd (MNS), a group company of the automotive major, has launched a comprehensive website for buyers and sellers of used vehicles, automartindia.com. Addressing a press conference in this connection, chairman Anand Mahindra said the site was the single largest database of used vehicles in India. It lists 1290 used vehicles covering 25 cities with Bombay having the maximum representation of 811 vehicles.

"The Mahindra group is committed to being a player in the used car segment. The e-commerce initiative is the one of the first in this direction - there will be many more and not just in the virtual world," Mahindra said. The site also offers finance from Mahindra & Mahindra Financial Services Limited and discussions are on to partner with other finance companies as well, he added.

Dealers and individuals can register themselves for free at automartindia.com and post details about models they want to sell. Potential buyers can search through this database to find amodel matching their specifications. The search can be done based on a number of parameters including brand and price, project director Amit Dixit said.

Currently 45 per cent of the used vehicles at the site are Marutis. Mahindra & Mahindra vehicles constitute around 15 per cent. "The site can also be a valuable indicator on the used car segment," MNS CEO Ghanashyam Padhi said.
