Indian Bank to extend ATM

MUMBAI, SEPT 2: Loss-making Indian Bank is planning to extend its ATM facilities to various other centres. It has also started to collect income tax, corporation tax, wealth tax, expenditure tax, gift tax and estate duty from its 28 branches.Launching the tax collection scheme, Indian Bank chairman T S Raghavan said here today that railway station cash collection has also begun. The chairman said that the bank has recovered a sum of Rs 100 crore from the defaulters. Raghvan who was in the city on Thursday claimed that fundamentals of the bank are sound. With various strategies put in place and with sustained momentum of growth backed by the support of the Government and Reserve Bank of India, the bank is poised for a quicker turnaround, he said.
