CYC men burn BJP manifesto

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
CHANDIGARH, Sept 2: Condemning the BJP for not offering anything for the youth in its manifesto, members of the Chandigarh Youth Federation and Chandigarh Youth Congress today burnt the BJP manifesto in Sector 17 here today.

CYF president Manjit Sahdev described the BJP candidate as "anti-youth" and said the party had insulted the city's 1.5 young voters by fielding him. He derided the BJP's track record vis a vis employment schemes or other programmes for the welfare of young people.

Chander Mukhi suspended
A press note issued by Brahm Mohindra, All-India Congress Committee observer for the Chandigarh constituency, announced that Chander Mukhi Sharma of the Indian national Congress has been suspended from party primary membership in view of his "gross anti-party activities" during the present campaign. Mohindra has also issued a show-cause notice to him separately. Sharma has contested the decision of the AICC observer, claiming that: "he is not authorised to suspend me."
