Get permit to ply vehicle on poll day

PANCHKULA, Sept 2: District Election Officer-cum-District Magistrate Vivek Joshi today clarified that anyone having genuine problem with regard to the use of vehicles on the poll day may apply in writing in advance on the prescribed performa to the District Magistrate.

In cases such as infirmity due to old-age, illness, death of any relative, marriage, election duty or any other unavoidable exigency, the permits to ply vehicles to those whose cases are found genuine will be issued from the office of the city magistrate on September 4 between 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Janata Dal Secular to remain neutral
Chandigarh:
The Janata Dal Secular, while appealing to city voters to defeat communal and fascist elements, has decided to remain neutral during the forthcoming elections. A statement issued here said that since it is not contesting these elections in Chandigarh, it will not extend support to any candidate.
