Manan upsets Aashish

PANCHKULA, Sept 2: Manan Nagpal of Chandigarh upset Aashish Dhanda of Punjab 63-51, 39-49, 67-26, 47-54, 59-47, to enter the next round of the professional category in the SK Bajaj Memorial snooker tournament at the Cute Q's Billiards and Snooker Pool Centre in Sector 6, today.

Deepak Goel defeated Sher Singh 73-46, 53-26, 67-18 while Mohit Bajaj got the better of Deepak Sharma 36-48, 59-11, 64-22, 45-36.

In another match Munish Srivastva beat Manav Dhawan 57-65, 55-19, 68-55, 55-17.

In amateur category, Bharat Mann outplayed Manoj Bajaj 59-27, 50-20 and Akshay Manchanda beat Gurnoor Singh 50-20, 35-53, 67-34.

Munish in semis
Munish Srivastava and Sunny Bhalla scored wins over their respective opponents to enter the semifinals of the open snooker event in the YMCA Open Billiards and Snooker tournament at the YMCA Hall in Sector 11, here today. Munish defeated Sameer Bhalla 66-30, 53-54, 38-40, 64-20, 65-20, in a match which last over an hour while Sunny Bhalla got the better of Manan Nagpal 68-46, 36-46, 69-41, 39-31, to book a berth in the last four stage of the meet.

In the handicap snooker Aman Bhasin also entered the semifinals by defeating Rajit Bajaj 47-34, 73-52, 48-63, 58-44.
