CHANDIGARH, Sept 3: BJP nominee for the Chandigarh Lok Sabha seat Krishan Lal Sharma today assured the members of the Purvanchal Welfare Association that he would strive for the construction of Purvanchal Bhawan, if he was elected. He was addressing an election meeting organised by the Association in CSIO complex, Sector 30 here today.Sharma also promised a direct rail link from Chandigarh to Chapra in Bihar via Ballia in Uttar Pradesh and other parts of eastern sectors like Guwahati. He also favoured the early implementation of pension scheme to Punjab University employees. The association president R.P. Vajpayee and general secretary Rajinder Singh promised their full support.
Earlier, Sharma attended prabhat pheris in Sectors 27, 28 and 29 and visited Manimajra Bazar to get the people's support in the election. Besides, addressing rallies in Raipur Kalan, Maulijagran, Mauli complex and Makhanmajra, Sharma also participated in the employees' rally.
Meanwhile, the city unit of Bahawalpur panchayat, Sector 40, EWS Residents' Welfare Association, Shiv Sena Rashtrawadi Party, Chandigarh Jewellers' Association have decided to support Sharma.
