Films screened

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
CHANDIGARH, Sept 3: As part of the Nutrition Week activities, the Sector 32 Government Medical College screened three films for parents on malnutrition, anaemia and diarrhoea.

After each film, the audience was encouraged to interact with doctors and dieticians conducting the Parent Nutrition Education Programme. The most common parental worries were: the child has poor appetite, does not like milk, or vegetables, or wants to go to the bathroom every time they eat something.

Children's height and weight were measured and parents counselled individually as six special diet clinics. The college's chief dietician, Manju Mathur, conducted the clinic. Barring a few children who were severely underweight, the weights of mentally handicapped children compared favourably with the average weight of normal children.
