SAS NAGAR, Sept 3: The police today conducted its final poll reharsel regarding security arrangements for the Lok Sabha Elections in the Kharar segment of the Roopnagar (reserved) constituency.Sas Nagar Superintendent of Police B. S. Randhawa said the 450 police personnel that were present at thereharsel would be deployed at 205 polling booths in the segment and their would also be 11 police patrolling parties, each headed by a Non-Gazetted Officer, besides three police personnel. He said all the police and patrolling parties for polling booths had been formed.
They have been told about the Dos and Don'ts of the elections, he said. They will maintain law and order and not force any one to vote for any particular party. In case any proxy voting takes place, they will obey the orders of the presiding officer, otherwise they will be given independent authority to conduct their law and order duty, he added.
Randhawa said noone will be allowed to come within 200 metres of the polling booth, except the authorised personal and voters of that particular booth. No security personnel with VIPs would be allowed within the 200 metre restricted area, he said.
