Harassed by in-laws, woman commits suicide

CHANDIGARH, Sept 3: Harassed by her in-laws for dowry, a Burail woman reportedly committed suicide here last night. Police have arrested four persons for their involvement in the case. Police sources said Rani, who was in her mid-20s, reportedly consumed some poisonous substance. She was rushed to the Sector 32 GMCH, where she died last night.Rani had married Mohan Singh of Burail village about three years ago. Her father alleged that Rani was being maltreated by her in-laws, who wanted her to bring more dowry. The police have registered a case and have arrested Mohan Singh, Rani's mother-in-law Surjit Kaur, father-in-law Ranbir Singh and her sister-in-law Bobby.
