MSU lodges FIR against 4 youths

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
VADODARA, Sept 16: The M S University officials, on Thursday, formally lodged a complaint with the Sayajigunj police station against four youths for their alleged involvement in the ransacking case at the Faculty of Arts on September 13.

According to a police spokesman, Officer on Special Duty, Vigilance and Security, M Shinde, in the FIR, alleged that the accused Janak Makwana, Hitesh Parmar, Mohan and Fhenku along with some unidentified youths had ransacked room no 12 of the faculty of arts and had also damaged the notice board in Room no 13.

The four accused -- along with some students -- were protesting against the delay by the grievance committee in looking into the case in which they were debarred from admission in July for their involvement in earlier violent incidents on the campus.

Following agitations from these students their case had to be referred to the grievance committee. One of the students Makwana said, ``Classes have started in all the faculties but the committee has not even met once. So we are already in the process of losing a year.''
