Make M Phil self-financed

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
VADODARA, Sept 16: The Board of Studies of the Department of English, M S University, has recommended that the M Phil degree course be kept in abeyance or make it self-financed. The course is generally taken up after a post-graduation degree.

Speaking about the other recommendations, head of the department P C Kar said, ``The proposal would be finalised only if the faculty and then the Syndicate passes it.''

The board of studies has also recommended the introduction of certain self-financed courses for the benefit of students and the department. The courses include Technical and Business English.

``These would be short-term courses and would be for five to six weeks,'' said Kar, adding that the fee structure of these courses would range from Rs 500 or Rs 600. While Technical English would be helpful to those who were already into the profession and Business English would be helpful to those working on their dissertations or projects.
