Power goes out of World Squash

Agence France Presse
Cairo, Sept 16: There was a sad end last night to Jonathon Power's one-year reign as World squash champion. The Canadian was forced by an injury to concede victory to Egytptian Ahmed Barada in the third game of their semi-final in the Al-Ahram World Open Championship at The Pyramids.

The third-seeded Egyptian, winner at 9-15, 15-9, 13-3 (retired), meets Peter Nicol, losing finalist for the last two years, in tonight's final. Nicol beat Martin Heath, seeded five, 11-15, 15-13, 15-9, 15-12.

During the second game, Power fell heavily as he tried to change direction on being wrong-footed. He damaged his knee.
