Of the 16-girls, eight are from the Krida Prabhodini, Balewadi, seven from Pune and one from Phaltan. About 52 girls had participated in the selection trials at PCMC Poligras Stadium, Nehru Nagar on September 5-6.

Dr. Pravin Joshi has been elected president of the Sports Medicine Association, Pune in the election held on Sunday.

Hoganas win HOGANAS India Ltd. scored a major upset when they shocked defending champions SKF Bearings India Ltd. by two-wickets in the inaugral league fixture of the XVI Inter-Swedish Group of Companies cricket tourney at the Jail ground (Yerwada) here today.

SKF taking strike first managed 75 runs in their allotted 25 overs, while Hoganas in reply managed to overcome the target losing eight wickets with one over to spare. Earlier VK Sud, managing director Hoganas inaugrated the meet.
