MUMBAI, SEPT 24: IBM India on Thursday announced it would revive its manufacturing plans in India and start production of its desktop range from Pondicherry near Tamil Nadu. This was revealed by managing director and CEO of IBM India Ranjit Limaye said at a press conference to mark the company's formal launch.IBM recently bought over Tata stake's in its 50:50 joint venture Tata-IBM Ltd for an undisclosed amount and renamed the company IBM India. Tata holds one per cent stake in IBM India.
Limaye declined to reveal the investment in the plant or its capacity. However, he indicated IBM may also other consider locations in India for manufacturing and widen the scope to include its home PC and Aptiva.
