Work in judicial courts to be affected today

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
PANCHKULA, Sept 24: The work at the Judicial Courts will remain suspended tommorow as a mark of protest against the kidnapping bid of Sanjeev Gupta, an advocate residing in Sector 9 here. This information was given by the Secretary of the District Bar Association, Amit Singla.

Singla said that this decision was taken in a meeting of the Association which was held under the Chairmanship of B.S.Virk here today. Narrating the incident Singla said that that some persons had broke open the door of Sanjeev Gupta on the 14th of this month and had dragged him out at about 10:30 pm but was saved from being kidnapped due to timely intervention of residents of the area.

The Association has condemned the inaction of the local police for having been able to arrest the accused even after a lapse of 10 days. A delegation of the Association plans to meet the Deputy Commissioner and the Superintendent of Police.
