PF enforcement officers meet

CHANDIGARH, Sept 24: As many as 1,469 new establishments have been covered under the Employees Provident Fund (PF) Act during 1998-99, while recovery to the tune of Rs 530.75 lakh made during the year.

This was highlighted during the annual conference of PF enforcement officers, chaired by Regional PF Commissioner, M.L. Meena here today. Meena said that a record number of about 16 lakh annual account statements were also issued and over 1.5 lakh claims were settled.

Further, Lok Adalats are being held on the 10th of every month for spot redressal of grievances and the working of the department has been computerised.

Functionaries from PF sub offices in Punjab and Chandigarh attended the conference and were advised to pay more attention towards recovery of arrears from defaulters, prompt compliance from employeers and speedy filing of prosecution complaints against defaulters.
