PANCHKULA, Oct 3: The Sector 7 shopkeepers today submitted a memorandum demanding arrest of the accused in the assault case that took place in the market a few days ago to Deputy Commissioner Vivek Joshi and Superintendent of Police Alok Mittal. The memorandum that was submitted on behalf of the Market Welfare Association of Sector 7.Meanwhile, the shops in Sector 7 market remained closed today to protest the assault on one of the market shopkeeper's. Talking to Newsline, Association president B.B. Kochhar said the market association had announced an award of Rs 10,000 for the police if they succeeded in arresting those involved in the incident. He said it was in a meeting of the Market Association with the Panchkula Beopar Mandal that the decision to keep the markets closed today was arrived at.
If the police fail to arrest the accused by tommorow, a complete Bandh will be observed in Panchkula from Tuesday onwards, he said. Further, he said there was a possibility of the agitation spreading to Kalka and Pinjore also.
