Bhutia booked within two minutes in first game

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
MUMBAI, OCT 3: Bury beat a battling Cardiff City 3-2 in an end-to-end encounter at Gigg Lane according to the net site www.soccernet.com. Twice ahead through Ian Lawson after two minutes and Darren Bullock after 59 minutes, the Shakers were pegged back through Kevin Nugent in the 46th and 56th minutes.

The decider was the best goal of the game as Andy Preece rose high above the Cardiff defence to head home 12 minutes from the end. Bury's ground-breaking signing, the Indian skipper Baichung Bhutia, came on as substitute for the injured Lawson at half-time and within two minutes he had been booked for not retreating from a free-kick. Bhutia showed a fine turn of speed and had a hand in Bury's second goal but the pace told, and with five minutes left -- and Bury under considerable pressure -- he was substituted.
