CHANDIGARH, Oct 13: After its defeat at the hands of the Congress in the Parliamentary polls for the Chandigarh seat, the swearing-in ceremony of the National Democratic Allinace-led government was an occasion to celebrate for the local BJP leaders.They celebrated the function at their party office in Sector 33. The party office was suitably decorated and workers gathered there to celebrate the day by distributing ladoos and breaking into a bhangra.
Prominent among those present included local BJP president Dharam Paul Gupta, former mayors Gian Chand Gupta and Kamla Sharma, Mayor Kewal Krishan Adiwal, former senior deputy mayor Prem Sagar Jain, senior deputy mayor Kanhya Lal, Mohinder Singh, Des Raj Tandon, Raghubir Arora, Shanta Abhilashi, BJYM president Satinder Singh, Parshottam Mahajan, Mahavir Prasad and Neena Tewari. A group of five BJP workers -- Rakesh Kumar, Mrityunjay Kumar, Ashok Kumar, Brijeshwar Chaudhary and Gagan Dev -- also set out on cycles to Vaishno Devi on the occasion.
