NEW DELHI, Oct 13: Oil India Limited (OIL) defeated Bongaingaon Refineries and petrochemicals Limited (BRPL) 8-0 to finish third in the PSCB Inter-Unit Football Tournament. After losing yesterday's semi-final in tie-breaker, OIL appeared to be in a revengeful mood as they demolished BRPL by a huge margin.OIL took lead in the fourth minute through M. Saikia and kept on increasing their tally at regular intervals as a hapless BRPL hardly offered any resistance. Saikia later scored two more for his side while T Khourd also scored three. The other scorers were -- P Gogoi and R Gogoi.
Columba's in semis
St Columba's upset Mamta Modern School 5-3 in tie-breaker and stormed into the semi-finals of the CBSE football tournament. In another match, Apex School beat NDMC Navyug School 4-1. Kanai Sarkar scored two while Solomon and John netted one each for Apex while Amish reduced margin for Navyug. In the last quarter-final, Mung Sing's brace saw Gen Raj Public School entering semis beating St Francis Public School 2-0.
