VADODARA, Oct 17: A gang of highway robbers struck near Por village on the National highway no. 8 and decamped with tyres worth lakhs of rupees from an Ahmedabad-bound truck in the wee hours of Saturday.

According to the police, the incident occurred around 3 a.m. Five unidentified persons in a truck intercepted a truck (CTA 7767) carrying tyres of a Maharashtra-based company. The robbers, who were armed with sharp weapons, ordered the driver and the truck owner to move towards Sundarpur village near Por.
