VADODARA, Oct 17: A gang of highway robbers struck near Por village on the National highway no. 8 and decamped with tyres worth lakhs of rupees from an Ahmedabad-bound truck in the wee hours of Saturday.According to the police, the incident occurred around 3 a.m. Five unidentified persons in a truck intercepted a truck (CTA 7767) carrying tyres of a Maharashtra-based company. The robbers, who were armed with sharp weapons, ordered the driver and the truck owner to move towards Sundarpur village near Por.
On reaching there, the robbers asked the two to drive towards an open field where they were tied up and beaten. The police has registered the complaint and are carrying on with the investigation.
