6 arrested under Gambling Act
In a raid at Baradana market of Sector 26 Grain Market on Sunday, the Crime Branch of the city police arrested six persons for gambling. The arrested are Subhash Chander and Prem Chand of Manimajra, Shamsher of Mauli Jagran, Balkishan of Bapu Dham, Dharam Pal of Panchkula and Sheru of Ram Darbar. The police have also seized Rs 12,000, recovered from their possession. Two separate cases under Gambling Act have been registered. Yesterday eight persons were arrested by the crime branch from various places in the city for gambling. Special raids are being carried out in the wake of the approaching festivals.

Stolen scooter recovered
The police have arrested Gurpreet Singh of Dadumajra and recovered a stolen scooter from his possession. Earlier, Palsora's Balwinder Singh had reported to the police that his scooter had been stolen.

Car stolen
Sector 46 resident Surinder Singh reported to the police that his Maruti car (CH -01-F-481) has been stolen from his residence. A theft case has been registered.
